How Do Our Wellness Retreats in canada work?

  • You! Our wellness and yoga retreats are created for reasonably active people who are looking for: 1) a holiday filled with adventure and memories to last a lifetime. 2) a week of treating yourself and prioritizing your health. 3) meeting other like minded travelers who are looking for the same experience as you!

    We do our best to accommodate most dietary restrictions on our wellness retreats. Our programs are tailored to most active people. Hikes range from 2-5 hours, with anywhere from 4-16 kilometers and 0-1000 meters of elevation gain. Some retreats are more active than others. Most activities on our wellness programs are optional, so you can opt to partake or sit them out if they feel a bit out of reach.

    As far as yoga, you can come on our retreats if you are a complete beginner or a seasoned yogi. Our practices are gentle and offer the opportunity to push yourself or relax as you see fit.

  • The benefits of our retreats are almost top numerous to describe. For one, this is an opportunity to escape the day to day life and live each moment as you desire and prioritizing yourself.

    Daily yoga rituals offer the chance to improve your flexibility, heal injuries and relax your mind, body and soul.

  • No, prior yoga experience is not necessary to attend a yoga and wellness retreat. Retreats cater to individuals of all levels, including beginners. Experienced instructors are usually present to guide participants through the yoga sessions and provide modifications or adjustments based on individual needs and abilities.

    This is the perfect place to dial in as an expert or learn as a first timer!

  • This all depends on what you are looking for in a yoga and wellness retreat. We offer retreats that focus on beaches, surf and yoga, and also retreats that offer yoga during a ski holiday.

    That being said, summer is generally the best time to attend a yoga retreat in Canada. The weather is warmest (between 15 and 30 degrees Celsius), and there is the least amount of precipitation.

    Planning your wellness retreat between May- September is usually the safest bet. The season is longer on the coast, and shorter in the mountains.

  • Packing depends largely on the season and area you are visiting on your yoga camp. Naturally, if you are heading to the mountains in the winter, you will pack differently than if you’re heading to the beach. Here is a list of items that are essential on most of our retreats:

    • Rain jacket (pants are helpful too)

    • Small day pack (15-30 liters) to carry personal items on hikes etc

    • Hiking boots or shoes (ankle support is recommended)

    • Non-cotton layers so you can layer up to suit the conditions

    • Bathing suit (always essential for under a wet suit or in the hot springs etc) (towel too)

    • We provide yoga mats, but you can opt to bring your own

    • You won’t need bolsters and blocks…. we improvise!

    • Stretchy clothing that you prefer for practicing yoga in

    • Some warm layers for those colder evenings

    • Sunglasses, sunblock, hat and lip chap

  • Our retreats are social in nature, spending the week in an intimate group of new friends. While we can’t stop you from being silent, we do encourage everyone to partake in the social environment of the retreat. If you are looking for a silent practise, we would recommend booking a retreat that is more conducive to this.
